Team Records and Series Notes

  • Kentucky improves to 10-1, while Belmont falls to 2-7.
  • Kentucky improves to 722-487 (61.9) all-time in 41 seasons of varsity women’s basketball and 189-89 (80.9) in the month of December.
    • UK has now won 18 of its last 19 games in the month of December.
  • Matthew Mitchell is in his eighth season as the head coach of the Wildcats. He already ranks first on UK’s all-time wins list with 180 and his winning percentage is .723 percent.
  • This was the fourth meeting between the programs since UK became a varsity sport in 1974-75.

  • Kentucky held Belmont to 55 points, the lowest point total for an opponent this season.
    • Marks the second time UK has held an opponent under the 60-point mark this season … The Cats held South Florida to 57.
  • Kentucky forced 21 turnovers and has now forced 20 or more in 10 of 11 games this season, including four straight.
    • Kentucky only had 11 turnovers, achieving its goal of 12 or less entering the game.

  • UK outrebounded the Bruins, 40-34, marking the second straight game the Cats have won the rebounding battle.

    • Has scored in double figures in four of the last six games and now has 32 games with double digits.
  • Sophomore Linnae Harper collected 12 points on 6-of-14 shooting.
    • Has double-figure points in 12 of her last 16 games dating back to last season.
