PALO ALTO, Calif. – The University of Kentucky women’s golf team closed out play at the Stanford Intercollegiate hosted by Dr. Condoleezza Rice with a ninth place finish, posting a team score of 866 (+14).
Sophomore Haley Mills led the Wildcats with a 16th place finish after firing a 212 (-1). Ale Walker shot a four-over (217) to finish tied for 40th.
Juniors Cylia Damerau and Sarah Harris finished in a tie for 53rd with a nine-over (222), while freshman Grace Rose rounded out the scoring for the Wildcats at 14 over (227) tied for 69th.
Host school and sixth ranked Stanford and eighth ranked Southern California took home the team title shooting 15-under, while No. 10 UCLA (-14), No. 1 Washington (-1) and No. 7 Northwestern (+1) rounded out the top five.
No. 12 Pepperdine (+3), No. 35 Iowa State (+10), No. 42 California (+12), Kentucky and No. 28 Arizona State (+19) finished out the top 10.
The tournament closed out the fall season for the Wildcats. UK will return to action for the spring portion of its schedule in February, 2015 at the UCF Challenge.
