ITA All-American Championship Tournament Hub | Wildcat Invite Draw

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The fall season continues for the Kentucky women’s tennis team at the Wildcat Invitational, Sept. 26 – 28, and the ITA Women’s All-American Championships, Sept. 27 – Oct. 5.

Six Wildcats will compete at the three-day, 10-team Wildcat Invitational, hosted by Northwestern University. Senior Kelsey Dieters, junior Nadia Ravita and sophomore Aldila Sutjiadi earned invitations to the 2014 Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships, an Intercollegiate Tennis Association event held at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif.

“We are excited for a weekend of competition,” UK head coach Carlos Drada said. “Our team will be going into two different high level tournaments and we are confident we will perform well.”

At the All-American Championships, Ravita and Sutjiadi, ranked the No. 14 doubles team in the country, will compete in the main draw doubles, beginning Oct. 2. Ravita earned a spot in the qualifying singles draw, set to begin Sept. 30, while Sutjiadi and Dieters will begin play Sept. 27 in the prequalifying singles draw.

Seniors Stephanie Fox, Kate Lanier, Edmée Morin-Kougoucheff and Grace Trimble, junior Kirsten Lewis and sophomore Taylor Lederman will compete for UK at the Wildcat Invitational. Lewis and Morin-Kougoucheff will play in one of two 32-player singles draws, while Fox, Lanier, Lederman and Trimble will compete in the other singles flight. In doubles competition, Lewis and Morin-Kougoucheff will team together in one 16-team doubles flight and Lanier and Lederman will compete together in the other doubles draw.

The 2014-15 Wildcats open the spring season January 13 in Hawaii, while UK hosts its first home contests of the year on Jan. 18 vs. the College of Charleston and Belmont.

Drada and the Wildcats are coming off an impressive 2013-14 campaign that saw Kentucky make its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2009. UK advanced to the NCAA Tournament’s second round and three Wildcats competed at the NCAA Individual Championships, including Ravita. Drada was named the Wilson/ITA Ohio Valley Region Coach of the Year, while assistant coach Kevin Calhoun earned Ohio Valley Region Assistant Coach of the Year honors.
