NORMAN, Okla. – Senior Kentucky men’s golfer Ben Stow was among more than 200 athletes to be named a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar it was announced by the organization.

To be eligible for the All-America honor an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team’s competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2.

Stow capped his senior campaign with a 72.03 stroke average after helping guide the Wildcats to an 18th place finish at the NCAA Championships. He, and teammate Stephen Powers, tied for a team-best 29th overall with an even scorecard at 210.

The Salisbury, England, native charted five top 10 finishes including four in the top five in 2013-14. Stow won the Hootie at Bulls Bay in a playoff on the 18th hole in which he sunk a birdie to clinch his first collegiate title. He registered a personal-best 54-hole score of 209 at the tournament.

Stow also sparked the Wildcats to a win at the Bluegrass Invitational with a team-best second place finish. He shot a 5-under par, 211 as UK defended its home course.

A Community and Leadership Development major, Stow owns a 3.674 grade-point average. He’s a two-time Southeastern Conference Academic honor roll recipient.
