LEXINGTON, Ky. –  Kentucky women’s basketball coach Matthew Mitchell announced Tuesday the promotion of Amy Tilley to the assistant athletics director for women’s basketball for the UK Hoops program.

Tilley, who has worked for the UK Hoops team for six years, has served as the director of basketball relations and recruiting for the past three seasons, including taking over the duties of the assistant athletics director position during 2013-14.

“Amy stepped into this role under difficult circumstances in the middle of this season and she just did an incredible job,” Mitchell said. “She is motivated and passionate about Kentucky and she is involved in the development of this program on so many levels. She invests so much time and thought into making our program better each day and I can’t think of anyone better to be in this role than her.”

Tilley’s new primary responsibilities at UK are team travel, scheduling, supervising all non-coaching personnel, management of the budget, facility coordinator, overseeing the student managers, supervising the team’s NIKE account and special event management.

“Working with Coach Mitchell and the UK Hoops staff has been a great experience and I am beyond blessed with this new opportunity,” Tilley said. “What Coach Mitchell has done over the past seven years, with the growth and success of this program is remarkable. I am excited to be a part of this awesome program and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.”

Tilley served as an administrative assistant during the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons under Mitchell before leaving to become the head coach at Dunbar High School for the 2010-11 year.

Prior to joining UK Athletics, Tilley was an accountant for Liberty Alliance Federal Credit Union.

The Somerset, Ky., native graduated from Kentucky in 2007 with a major in finance and a minor in economics. She received a master’s degree in secondary education from Eastern Kentucky University in 2011 and will receive a second master’s degree in educational leadership from EKU this May.

Tilley and her husband, Adam, reside in Lexington, Ky., with their daughter, Reagan Skye.
