PHILADELPHIA – The sixth ranked Kentucky women’s track and field team as well as the 24th ranked UK men’s squad will make their annual trips to Historic Franklin Field for the 120th Penn Relay Carnival, which begins Thursday and runs through Saturday.

The Penn Relays will be the marquee meet for the Wildcats this weekend, but UK’s throwers – led by reigning Southeastern Conference Field Athlete of the Week Raymond Dykstra – will head west to the nation’s top meet for throwers: the Triton Invitational hosted by UC San Diego beginning on Friday. Other members of the team will also compete at the Bellarmine Classic in Louisville on Saturday.

The 2014 Penn Relays will be webcast live on Flotrack.com’s Flotrack Pro subscription service. Live action will broadcast all three days, except for USA vs. The World in addition to possibly the Men’s College Championship of American 4xMile Relay, which will be broadcast live on NBC Sports Network (NBCSN) during Saturday’s portion of the meet from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. (EDT). Start lists and results are available at www.thepennrelays.com.

This weekend’s meets will provide the Wildcats with one of the last tune up opportunities before UK hosts the 2014 SEC Outdoor Championships from May 15-18. UK will be the site of the nation’s top conference meet for the first time since 1996.

Thursday’s action will feature multiple individual races as well as preliminary heats for many of the Championship of America Relay Competitions, from which the winners will receive the famed Penn Relay Carnival Wheels.

UK is currently entered to compete in the women’s 4x100m, the 4×200, 4×400 and sprint medley relays. The UK men’s team is scheduled to compete in Friday’s distance medley and 4xmile relays.
