WILMINGTON, N.C. — The season-opening matchup with Kentucky and No. 1 Virginia, set for Friday, has been pushed back to a 1:30 p.m. ET first pitch on Friday at Brooks Field, on the campus on UNC Wilmington, it was announced on Thursday night.
UK will face the Cavaliers on Friday at 1:30 p.m. ET, moved from a 12 p.m. ET first pitch due to rain in the Wilmington area on Thursday. UK will resume the Hughes Brothers Invitational on Saturday at 4 p.m. ET against host UNC Wilmington, before concluding the tournament on Sunday vs. VMI at 10 a.m. ET.
Kentucky’s opening weekend will conclude on Monday at USC Upstate, with first pitch slated for 1 p.m. ET in Spartanburg, S.C.
The games will be broadcast live on the UK IMG Network, with Dick Gabriel, voicing the action. Fans in Lexington can hear the games live on WGVN 1580-AM and online at UKathletics.com.
