LEXINGTON, Ky. – Cally Macumber was named a cross country All-American for the second consecutive season on Tuesday, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced.

The senior recently finished 13th at the NCAA Championships, as the top-40 indivdual finishers in the National Championship race were named All-America.

Macumber is now a four-time USTFCCCA All-America selection, as she has earned the honor in cross country twice and is also a two-time indoor track and field All-American (2013: 3,000 meters and distance medley relay).

Macumber is one of eight Wildcats ever to be named a cross country All-American, and she is just the third UK runner to earn the honor twice in cross country.

Macumber finished inside the NCAA Championship top-15 for the second straight season as she was sixth at the same meet in 2012.

Macumber’s finish was the eighth highest at the NCAA Championships in school history, and accounting for her performance last season just the second top-15 finish for a Kentucky runner since 1989, when UK won the team National Title and Valerie McGovern placed second individually.

Macumber became one of four Wildcats to ever place inside the NCAA top-15, and is now just the third to do so twice in her career.

Macumber, a senior in cross country, has exhausted her eligibility indoors and will be a senior for the outdoor track and field season.
