LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Kentucky Athletics has announced it will host its annual “Heroes’ Day” this Saturday at Commonwealth Stadium when the Kentucky football team squares off against No. 9 Missouri at Noon ET. The event honors all active, reserve and veteran members of the armed forces along with police, firefighters and first responders.

Among the plans for the day is a football-field sized American flag, which will be presented by the UK Air Force ROTC and UK Army ROTC and recognition of personnel throughout the game and military VIPs in attendance.

UK Athletics invites all active, reserve and veteran members of the armed forces along with police, firefighters and first responders to attend the game. Members of the organizations with a personal ID reflective of their service will receive two tickets, one for themselves and a guest.

“Heroes’ Day is one of my favorite days at Commonwealth Stadium because it is our chance to recognize the true heroes,” UK Athletics Director Mitch Barnhart said. “One of the cornerstones of our athletic department is to involve this community and the Commonwealth in everything we do. I can’t think of a better way to do that than honoring those who work so hard every day to ensure our safety and freedom. It will be an honor to spend Saturday afternoon with our nation’s finest.”

Individual tickets may be obtained on game day with the presentation of a service ID at the ticket booth outside Gate 4.
