LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky women’s tennis team will have eight players competing in the USTA/ITA Ohio Valley Indoor Regional Championships Oct. 18-22 in Memphis, Tenn.

“This tournament is a great opportunity for our team to continue improving,” head coach Carlos Drada said. “We hope to take full advantage of this experience.”

Selections for the tournament took place in June with six UK players in the main draw singles and two selected for the qualifying round. Freshman Aldila Sutjiadi, sophomores Nadia Ravita and Kirsten Lewis, juniors Kelsey Dieters and Edmée Morin-Kougoucheff, and senior Caitlin McGraw will all participate in main draw action. Junior Stephanie Fox and senior Cece Witten will participate in the qualifying round.

No. 26 Ravita was selected as the top seeded player in the championships. No. 55 Dieters is a two seed for the tournament and Sutjiadi was selected as a 12 seed for the tournament. Preseason rankings determined the seeds for the regional.

“I’m excited about the tournament,” Ravita said. “This is a really big opportunity for us to possibly advance to national indoors in November.”

No. 32 duo McGraw and Ravita will look to improve their 1-1 fall season record in main draw doubles. Sutjiadi and Morin-Kougoucheff will pair up for the second time this season in main draw doubles action following an impressive 2-0 start to their fall season. Dieters and Witten will team up for the first time this year for main draw doubles. Fox and Lewis will play in the qualifying round together.

McGraw and Ravita were selected as the two seed in the main draw doubles competition and Morin-Kougoucheff and Sutjiadi were selected as an eight seed.

Qualifying rounds will begin Friday morning at 8 a.m. with main draw action slated to begin Saturday at 8 a.m.
