Team Records and Series Notes

  • Kentucky is now 1-5, 0-3 in the SEC. Alabama is 6-0, 3-0 in the league.
  • Alabama leads the all-time series, 36-2-1, including a 15-2 mark in Lexington.
  • Alabama has now won five consecutive meetings in the series.
  • Kentucky played four consecutive top-20 ranked opponents for the first time in school history, facing No. 7 Louisville, No. 19 Florida, No. 13 South Carolina and No. 1 Alabama.
  • The Wildcats are now 3-11 all-time against the nation’s top-ranked team. 
  • Steve Meilinger, who played at Kentucky from 1951-53, was recognized in the second quarter in honor of his upcoming induction into the College Football Hall of Fame.


Team Notes

  • UK had a season-high crowd of 69,873, its largest crowd since UK’s 2010 home game with Georgia.
  • The Wildcats forced Alabama to punt on its opening possession. It marked just the second time Alabama had punted on its opening possession in 2013.
  • Kentucky held Alabama scoreless in the first quarter, marking the first time Bama had been held scoreless in the first quarter in 2013.
    • The last time Alabama was scoreless in the first quarter was in the 2012 SEC Championship, on Dec. 1, 2013 vs. Georgia in Atlanta.
  • Kentucky has an open date on Oct. 19 and then returns to action Thursday, Oct. 23, at Mississippi State. Game time is 7:30 p.m. EDT (6:30 p.m. CDT in Starkville).

  • Senior RB
    Raymond Sanders
    rushed 14 times for 72 yards, his best game since rushing for 98 yards in the season opener.

    • Sanders now has 1,333 rushing yards in his career, moving past Chris Hill (1975-78), Don Phelps (1946-49), Randall Cobb (2008-10) and Randy Books (1976-80) to sole possession of No. 21 on the career rushing list.
  • Senior LB
    Avery Williamson
    finished with a game-high 13 tackles. 

    • Williamson now has a streak of 25 consecutive games with at least three tackles.
    • Williamson recovered his second fumble of the year and the third of his career in the first quarter.
    • Williamson now has 11 career double-digit tackle performances.
  • Junior WR
    Javess Blue
    caught two balls for 44 yards and his second TD of the year.

    • The third-quarter score marked Blue’s first TD catch since the Miami (Ohio) game.
  • Junior DB
    Eric Dixon
    forced his first fumble of the year in the first quarter.

    • It marked Dixon’s second career forced fumble.
    • Dixon had a career-high 10 tackles

    Fred Tiller
    recovered his second fumble of the year in the first quarter.

    • Tiller forced a fumble later in the quarter, his first career forced fumble.

    threw his first touchdown pass since the Miami (Ohio) game.

    • Smith finished 7-for-16 for 76 yards and one TD.

    Landon Foster
    punted eight times for a 44.8-yard average, including one inside the 20-yard line.

    • Foster tied his career-long with a 58-yard punt.
  • Junior DE Za’Darius Smith recorded his first pass break-up of the year.
    • Smith tied his career high with six tackles.
  • Sophomore DE Farrington Huguenin notched his first quarterback hurry of the year.

    Nate Willis
    charted eight tackles and his second pass break-up of the year and his first since the season opener.
