PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif.- The University of Kentucky women’s tennis team finished play in the qualifying singles and doubles on Tuesday at the Riviera/ ITA All-American Championships.
Junior Kelsey Dieters, faced off with UCLA’s Chenelle Van Nguyen in the qualifying singles draw. Nguyen took the match 6-0, 6-1.
In doubles, Caitlin McGraw and Nadia Ravita fell to Georgia’s Maho Kawose and Lauren Herring. The Georgia tandem topped McGraw and Ravita, 8-1.
“We are playing against the best competition in the nation,” UK head coach Carlos Drada said. “It is very important that we learn from our mistakes and that we positively use these experiences for the rest of the season. I am very excited about the endless possibilities that the future holds for our team.”
The Kentucky duo will play a qualifying doubles consolation match on Wednesday at 10 a.m. PT against UCLA’s Catherine Harrison and Morgan Thomas.
Ravita will have her first singles match of the fall season in the main draw singles on Thursday. She will play against Kristie Ahn of Stanford at 1:30 PT.
