LEXINGTON, Ky. – A quality pitching effort from Ellen Renfroe and a two-hit, two-run day at the plate by Raven Chevanne helped guide No. 2 seed Tennessee to a 5-0 shutout of No. 10 seed South Carolina in the final quarterfinal matchup of the Southeastern Conference Tournament on Thursday at John Cropp Stadium.

The Lady Volunteers advance to the semifinals and will meet No. 3 seed Missouri at 3:30 p.m. ET. The game will air live on ESPNU.

Tennessee jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the opening frame and that would be all the damage it would need en route to the win. The Lady Vols were led by Chevanne at the dish with a 2-for-4 day which included a pair of runs scored. UT also generated a tally in both the third and fifth innings to make the final margin.

Renfroe was dominant in the circle with a complete-game shutout. She notched six strikeouts, while yielding just four hits and one walk.

The semifinal matchups begin with No. 1 Florida taking on No. 5 Georgia at 1 p.m. ET. Tennessee and Missouri will meet following the conclusion of that contest.
