LEXINGTON, Ky. – After an extremely successful stint with the U-23 United States Women’s National Team in the April camp, University of Kentucky junior Arin Gilliland was extended an invitation to the next U-23 National Team camp, it was announced by US Soccer on Tuesday.

The camp will run from May 11-18 and will take place at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif.

“We are all so proud and excited for Arin,” UK head coach Jon Lipsitz said. “We knew that when she left for the April camp how much it meant to her to be able to compete at the highest level. We had faith that she would take full advantage of the opportunity, and we are so proud of her performance. To play for her country and throw on the red, white and blue kit means a lot to her and I am so thrilled that she is chasing her dreams while representing Kentucky.”

Gilliland led the Wildcats in scoring a year ago, tallying seven goals and seven assists for 21 total points in over 1,900 minutes on the pitch. Within those seven goals were three game-winning goals and three game-tying goals as well.

The junior from Lexington, Ky., was named a third-team All-American a year ago by CollegeSoccerMadness.com, as being named to the Topical Smoothie Invitational All-Tournament Team, Cardinal Classic All-Tournament Team, NSCAA All-South and First Team All-SEC.

At the 2013 CATSPY awards, Gilliland was honored with the Blue Heart Award, which is annually given to the Kentucky student-athlete who exemplifies the most passion and strongest heart for the University of Kentucky while overcoming adversity to get there.
