ST. SIMMONS ISLAND, Ga. – After round one of the Southeastern Conference Championships, the Kentucky men’s golf team sits in eighth place, shooting 11-over-par on Friday at the Seaside Course in St. Simmons Island, Ga. The Wildcats are 16 shots off the leader Auburn, who was 5-under on the day.

Junior transfer Ben Stow fired the low score on the afternoon for UK, posting an even par round on Friday. The Salisbury, England native was impressive on the day, recording a team-high 14 pars with a birdie and an eagle on the par-5 hole No. 15. Stow is tied for 12th overall.
    
Senior Chase Parker charted a team-best three birdies today and is 1-over-par for the tournament. The Augusta, Ga., native was 2-over on the day before recording three straight birdies on holes 18, one and two to move to 1-under. Parker is tied for 19th on the overall leaderboard.

Stephen Powers was 4-over-par on the afternoon and is tied for 35th. Junior Cody Martin is tied for 51st at 6-over, while sophomore Will Bishop was 7-over and is tied for 55th.
