BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Kentucky women’s golf team travels to Birmingham, Ala., for the 2013 Southeastern Conference Championship on April 19-21 at the par-72, 6,401-yard Greystone Golf and Country Club.

The three-day 54-hole event is slated to begin on Friday and will conclude on Sunday with a round of 18 scheduled to be played each day. UK will be paired with LSU and Tennessee in the first round and are set to tee off at 9 a.m. ET.

The field will consist of six teams ranked in the most recent Golf World/WGCA Division I Coaches’ Poll including No. 2 Alabama, No. 5 Florida, No. 7 Arkansas, No. 10 Vanderbilt, No. 19 Georgia and No. 22 Texas A&M. Also competing this weekend are Auburn, LSU, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Missouri, South Carolina and Tennessee.

The Wildcats lineup will feature senior Ashleigh Albrecht, freshmen Sarah Harris and Cylia Damerau, junior Liz Breed and senior Betsie Johnson.

Kentucky is coming off its best performance of the spring, finishing fifth at the M&F Bank Rebel Intercollegiate.

Albrecht led UK in stroke average on the year at 74.48, competing in seven tournaments. The senior also recorded a team-high with three top-20 and two top-10 finishes throughout the year.

The freshman duo of Damerau and Harris have also competed in seven events during the year. Damerau led all freshmen with a scoring average of 75.52, while Harris was second at 75.90. The two both recorded their best finishes in the first tournament of the year at the Old Waverly Bulldog Invitational where Damerau placed ninth and Harris finished tied for 16th.

Breed was the only Wildcat to compete in all eight tournaments this year, while Johnson participated in six.

The Wildcats placed ninth at the 2012 SEC Championship, shooting 82-over-par at the Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Ark. Auburn is the defending champion, taking the title at 52-over-par. Former Wildcat Ashlee Rose paced UK, finishing tied for 12th at 14-over-par.
