MUNCIE, Ind. – Fresh off a season-high score, the Kentucky gymnastics team travels to Ball State for a matinée dual meet on Sunday beginning at 1 p.m. ET.
Ball State will have live video coverage available with a subscription.
Kentucky (5-4-1, 3-3-1 SEC) finished with a total score of 196.075 against the top-ranked Florida Gators last Friday, and UK will look to continue the march toward the post season with just three competitions remaining before the Southeastern Conference Championships.
The Wildcats are coming off having posted the sixth best team score in program history a week ago. Kentucky used two season-high event scores on vault and beam to reach 196 for the first time this season.
Kentucky’s beam score was fifth-best in school history with last week’s total of 49.15 having been produced under high pressure after disappointing rotation the week before.
The Wildcats check in at No. 21 in the national rankings this week, up two spots from a week ago. UK ranks No. 17 on uneven bars, No. 15 on balance beam and No. 19 on floor exercise.
Kentucky wrapped up SEC competition with an all-time best conference record of 3-3-1.
Audrey Harrison continued her stellar junior campaign last Friday, as she tallied her league-leading sixth all-around title of the season and fourth in a row. Harrison scored a 39.225 while facing the nation’s top-ranked team. Each of the Knoxville, Tenn., native’s all-around wins this season has come in SEC competition.
She ranks No. 17 in the national individual all-around top-25, in which she appeared on Monday for the first time since Jan. 21.
Sophomore Shannon Mitchell has come into her own on floor this season as she now has six-consecutive floor exercise scores of 9.8 or higher on the event in as many weeks. Mitchell tied her career-high output on floor last week notching a 9.85 for the second week in a row.
Ball State (5-6, 3-3 MAC) owns a top team score this season of 194.50, which it scored in its victory over Central Michigan, which had entered the meet ranked 19th in the country.
Sunday’s meet will be Ball State’s Senior Day event celebrating the careers of five competitors in their final home meet.
