Kentucky falls to 17-8 overall and 8-4 in Southeastern Conference action. Tennessee improves to 14-10 and 6-6 in league play.
Despite the loss, Kentucky still leads the series 149-67. Prior to today’s defeat, UK had won six-straight in the series and now owns wins in 20 of the last 25 meetings.
Kentucky is 4-4 all-time as the Associated Press’ No. 25 ranked team.
Kentucky returns to action on Wednesday, Feb. 20 for the first of three-straight at home. UK welcomes Vanderbilt to Rupp Arena for an 8 p.m. ET tip to air on the SEC Network.

Kentucky used the starting combination of Jarrod Polson, Archie Goodwin, Willie Cauley-Stein, Kyle Wiltjer and Julius Mays for the first time this season. That lineup is 0-1 on the year.
Alex Poythress was the first sub off the bench for the Blue and White. This marked the third time this season he’s been the first substitution for the Cats.
-Mays connected on Kentucky’s first 3-point attempt on UK’s first made field goal of the first half. The basket extended UK’s 3-point streak to 852 consecutive games which is a standard that ranks as the third longest such streak in the nation.
Kentucky trailed 50-26 at the half. The 24-point deficit was the largest of the season for UK. The Wildcats are now 1-6 when trailing at the break.
UK had three players (Poythress, Cauley-Stein and Harrow) foul out. It marked the first time three players fouled out for Kentucky since Jan. 8, 2011 at Georgia.

The junior played a season-high 15 minutes; he had previously played 11 minutes against Lafayette on Nov. 16, 2012.
Pulled down a team-high three offensive rebounds.
Scored four points which is the most in SEC play this season for Hood.

The junior made his first career start.
Scored a career-high 11 points, topping his previous high of 10 vs. Maryland in the season opener.
Scored four or more points in consecutive games for the first time in his career.
Has sunk a 3-pointer in a career-long three-game stretch.
Connected on a career-high four-of-four free throw attempts. Both the makes and the attempts were career-best marks.

Had two blocks, marking the first multi-block game for the 7-0 forward since swatting two shots against South Carolina.

Scored 18 points and has now reached double-figure scoring in 14 games this season and 19 times in his career.

Connected on his first two 3-point attempts of the first half and has now drilled multiple shots from long range in 10 of his last 11 games.
Scored 12 points and has reached double-figure scoring in five-straight games.
