LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky rifle team will compete in the Withrow Open on Friday at the Pat Spurgin Rifle Range in Murray, Ky.

“We’re excited to be heading back down to Murray,” UK head coach Harry Mullins said. “This weekend will be a great opportunity for some who are not used to being on the blue squad to gain some valuable experience.”

The Wildcats will travel seniors Ed Ryznar and James Jasis, junior Aaron Holsopple, sophomores Jonathan Pinkel, Cody Manning and John Sutton and freshman Luke South.

Kentucky’s counters in smallbore include Holsopple, Ryznar, Pinkel, Manning and Jasis while air rifle will consist of Holsopple, Ryznar, Pinkel, Manning and South.  

Along with the No. 3 ranked Wildcats, Friday’s Invitational consists of two top-10 teams in Jacksonville State and Murray State and two more programs ranked in the top-20, Tennessee-Martin and Akron.  

“We’re glad to have the opportunity to compete in the Withrow Open,” Mullins said. “We’re facing some quality competition and recognize that we must come ready to compete. I think our team is up to the challenge and will gain a lot from this weekend.”
