LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky diving team will compete in the Miami University Diving Open this weekend against an impressive field of competitors including the Guangdong Provincial diving team from China. Other teams competing in the meet include host Miami University, Marshall, West Virginia and Wright State.
Kentucky will send five men and three women to compete in the event this weekend in Oxford, Ohio. The Cats have performed well this season with junior Greg Ferrucci and freshman Rebecca Hamperian ranking amongst the top divers in the SEC. They will face a tough test against this field, however, with the Guangdong team who boasts multiple Olympic divers.
The meet starts Friday afternoon with the preliminaries of the men’s 1-meter and women’s 3-meter starting at 2 p.m. with the finals slated for 7:30 p.m. The finals will be comprised of the top nine divers of the preliminary round.
