LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Kentucky true freshman punter Landon Foster and sophomore linebacker Alvin “Bud” Dupree have been named Honorable Mention Performers of the Week by the College Football Performance Awards for their impressive performances Saturday at Tennessee.

Foster was named Honorable Mention Punter of the Week, while Dupree was named Honorable Mention Linebacker of the Week. This is the sixth honor of the season for Foster, who also earned the honor after the Louisville, Kent State, Mississippi State, Arkansas and Georgia games. This is the first honor of the season for Dupree, who is the second UK linebacker to earn the honor this season after Avery Williamson had the title after the Vanderbilt and Samford games.

Foster had a great game against his home-state team, launching five punts for an average of 48 yards.  Four of his five punts were at least 50 yards, and a long punt of 52 yards, including one punt inside the opponent’s 20-yard line. Foster finished the 2012 season with 61 punts for 2,617 yards. The native of Franklin, Tenn., ends the season with an average of 42.9 yards per punt, which is the highest average ever by a Wildcat freshman. Foster ended the season with 13 punts inside the opponent’s 20-yard line and only three touchbacks.

Dupree recorded a team-high 10 tackles in the game, including one sack and three tackles for loss. Dupree has had a tackle for loss in three consecutive games, finishing 2012 with a club-best 12.5 TFL and a team leading 6.5 sacks. Dupree was also second on the team in total tackles with 91, which currently ranks him 10th in the Southeastern Conference.
