LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky Gymnastics team will continue laying the groundwork for the 2013 season when head coach Tim Garrison opens the UK Gymnastics Training Facility for spectators to watch the Wildcats compete in an intra-squad meet on Friday at 3 p.m. ET.
Kentucky is coming off one of the finest seasons in program history after posting three consecutive scores of 195.875 or higher to finish the season with Kentucky’s best-ever three meet stretch.
Garrison guided the Wildcats to a final No. 25 ranking with a National Qualifying Score of 390.240 in 2012. The ranking made Garrison the first head coach in school history to take his team to a top-25 final ranking in his first season, based on records dating to 1996.
The annual Blue/White Scrimmage will take place on Thursday, Dec. 6 at Memorial Coliseum. The event will feature an intra-squad scrimmage and serve as the final tune-up for the Wildcats before the 2013 season opener. Admission to the event is free.
The Wildcats will begin their regular-season schedule on Jan. 6 with a four-team meet between host University of California, Auburn and Arizona.
