First Half Notes

  • Kentucky’s starting lineup included A’dia Mathies, Bria Goss, Maegan Conwright, Samarie Walker and DeNesha Stallworth.
    • Stallworth made her first UK career start.
    • Saturday marked the first time in 105 straight contests Coach Mitchell did not have a freshman in his starting lineup.
  • Junior Samarie Walker scored the first bucket of the game for UK. UK reeled off the first seven points of the contest for a 7-0 lead.
  • Junior DeNesha Stallworth recorded her first UK career basket at the 17:44 mark in the first half.
  • Freshman Janee Thompson made her first career appearance and recorded her first points at the charity stripe, giving the Wildcats a 16-4 advantage at the 13:45 mark
  • Kentucky jumped out to a 25-6 lead through the first 10 minutes of the half.
  • Play was pretty even the rest of the way as UK took a 46-21 advantage into the break.

  • Kentucky went on a 22-7 run to begin the second half, extending its lead to 68-28.
  • UK was 16-of-33 (48.5) from the field in the second half and forced XXXXX turnovers.

Team/Game Notes

  • The Wildcats hit 10 three-pointers, extending their streak of consecutive games with a triple to 293.
  • The Wildcats are now 284-20 (.934) when scoring 80 points or more, including a 38-2 (.950) mark under Mitchell.
  • Kentucky pressured the Hornets into 32 turnovers in the game and has now forced double-digit miscues in 118 consecutive games. The Cats are 86-32 during that span.
  • All 13 UK players recorded at least one point in the contest.
  • Kentucky’s bench outscored the opposition 34-2 in the game.

Individual Notes

  • Senior guard A’dia Mathies scored a team-best 16 points, grabbed four rebounds, dished out six assists and recorded four steals.
    • The senior climbed to No. 11 on the UK all-time scoring charts with 1,451 career points, passing Tiffany Wait.
    • Mathies nailed four three-pointers, tying Carly Morrow (2008-11) at No. 8 all-time on the all-time list with 108. She also moved up to No. 9 on the career 3-pointers attempted list with 316, passing Carly Ormerod (2006-09).
  • Junior DeNesha Stallworth recorded UK career highs of 11 points, two rebounds, three assists, five field goals made and a 3-pointer.
  • Sophomore Bria Goss was the third UK player to reach double figures with 14 points, while shooting 5-of-6 from the charity stripe.
    • Goss has scored in double figures and recorded a 3-pointer for the third straight game, dating back to last season.
  • Sophomore Azia Bishop charted eight points off the bench, while tallying team-highs of nine rebounds and three blocks.
