LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky baseball team will host a total of three intrasquad scrimmages during the week, starting with a Tuesday afternoon five-inning game at Cliff Hagan Stadium, it was announced by UK head coach Gary Henderson.
UK will host the first of the three games on Tuesday at 2:05 p.m. ET at Cliff Hagan Stadium, a five-inning scrimmage. On Friday, a two-game weekend will kickoff with an eight-inning scrimmage at 2:05 p.m. ET at Cliff Hagan. The week will conclude on Saturday with a six-inning scrimmage with first pitch slated for 11:15 a.m. ET.
Kentucky is coming off a school-record 45-win season in 2012, with the Wildcats returning Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Year Austin Cousino, consensus first-team freshman All-America two-way standout A.J. Reed and All-SEC starting pitcher Corey Littrell. After the season, a school-record nine players were picked in the 2012 MLB Draft – second-most in the NCAA – and UK led the nation with nine players in the Cape Cod League or with the USA National Team.
