LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky swimming and diving staff has announced details for its annual Alumni Weekend, it was announced Tuesday morning.
Alumni Weekend is scheduled to take place on Friday, Oct. 5 through Oct. 6 in Lexington, Ky. The annual celebration will include Opening Day at famed Keeneland Race Track, open swimming at UK’s state-of-the-art Lancaster Aquatic Center, participation in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, and the UK football game at Commonwealth Stadium vs. Mississippi State.

First race at 1:15 pm. Gates open at 11:00 AM.
General Admission is $5/person. Kids under 12 are free.

Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, race starts at 9:00 AM
Register to be a part of the “UK Swim & Dive Alumni IronMike Team” at www.KomenLexington.org , click the Race for the Cure tab, then click on Team, then Join Existing Team. Fill in the team name exactly as it appears above and follow the steps to register.
Cost $30/person
At the fountain in front of the courthouse downtown, meet the group and pick up your football tickets & alumni t-shirt if you haven’t already at 8:30 AM.
Wear your new UK Swim, Dive & Polo Alumni synthetic team shirt in the race!
Keeneland
Depending on the game time, you may have the chance to squeeze in a visit to the track. First race is at 1:15 pm. Gates open at 11:00 AM.

UK plays Mississippi State, game time not announced until 7 days prior.

Friday, October 5th at Atomic Café, Margo Greeman will have a table on the patio.
Saturday, October 6th before the Race for the Cure at 8:30 AM from Emily Lyden at the fountain in front of the court house downtown.
Saturday, October 6th at the tailgate starting 2½ hrs before the football game.
Hotels:
It will be a very busy weekend in Lexington with UK football and Keeneland. We suggest you book your hotel RIGHT AWAY. We have reserved small blocks of rooms at three area hotels. These rooms will be released on September 5
th.
Hyatt Downtown- Alumni rate of $179. This hotel is newly renovated and next to Rupp Arena. Contact Beth Fowler at 859-519-4214. The rate is reserved under UK Swim/Dive Alumni block.
The University Inn- Closest to campus, pool, and football stadium. The rate is $144. Contact Jamie at 859-278-6625 and reference UK Swim rate.
Springhill Suites- Close to both campus and downtown on South Broadway. The rate is $124. Contact Monica Jones at 859-225-1500.
