LEXINGTON, Ky. –
The Kentucky-South Carolina women’s soccer match on Friday, Oct. 19 has been selected for a national telecast on Fox Sports South.
Originally scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. ET kickoff, the start time has been upped by 30 minutes with the first whistle now scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET at the UK Soccer Complex in Lexington, Ky.
Kentucky downed the Gamecocks in 2011 by a count of 1-0 behind a goal in the 42nd minute off the foot of Caitlin Landis. The win in Columbia, S.C., was the Wildcats first win over USC since the 2006 season, and first win in Columbia since 2005.
The game is one of 16 live television appearances for the Southeastern Conference, who enters the fourth year of a landmark television deal with ESPN, SportsSouth, Cox Sports and CSS. In addition to the 16 regular-season games, the SEC Tournament Championship will be shown live on ESPNU. Additionally, all the games will be streamed live on ESPN3.com.
The women’s soccer team kicks off the 2012 UK Athletics year on Friday, Aug. 17 at 7:00 p.m. ET when UK will play host to Coastal Carolina at the UK Soccer Complex.
