LEXINGTON, Ky. – Incoming freshman Meghan McDougall captured the Junior Girls title at the CN Future Links Atlantic Championship Thursday at Eagles Glenn Golf Course in Cavendish, Prince Edward Island, Canada.

McDougall, a native of Markham, Ontario, cruised to a 14-stroke victory after shooting a 1-under-par 71 in the final round of play. McDougall’s four birdies in the final round gave her a 54-hole tally of 5-over-par 221.

McDougall’s victory earned her an exemption into the 2012 Royale Cup Canadian Junior Girls Championship.

Prefacing the CN Future Links Atlantic Championship, McDougall placed fourth at the Investors Group Junior Girls’ Championship, shooting a 10-over-par 298 at Shelbourne Golf and Country Club in Shelbourne, Ontario. McDougall recorder a par or better score on 76.4 pct. of the 72-hole event, including sinking 11 birdies.

McDougall’s recent success adds to her list of accomplishments, a list that includes a silver medal in the 2010 Ontario Summer Games and being selected to the 2010 and 2011 Golf Association of Ontario U19 Team Ontario.
