LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky men’s basketball signees Archie Goodwin, Nerlens Noel and Alex Poythress were named 2012 Parade Prep All-Americans.
The three selections pushed the number of Parade All-Americans that have signed with Kentucky over the years to 76.
Archie Goodwin (Sherwood, Ark., Sylvan Hills HS) was named Arkansas’ Mr. Basketball and was also named Gatorade State Player of the Year and McDonalds All-America honors. Scout.com ranks him the third best shooting guard and 14th overall, while ESPNU Recruiting has Goodwin as the fourth best shooting guard and also 15th overall. He is currently ranked as the fifth best shooting guard in the country and 15th overall by Rivals.com.
Nerlens Noel (Everett, Mass, Tilton School) was also named the USA Today National Player of the Year. He is rated as the top player by ESPNU Recruiting and Scout.com and the best center prospect. He’s the top-ranked center and the second-best overall player by Rivals.
Alex Poythress (Clarksville, Tenn., Northeast HS) was named Tennessee’s Mr. Basketball and was also named Gatorade State Player of the Year and McDonalds All-America honors. Scout.com ranks Poythress seventh overall in the class of 2012 and the No. 3 small forward, while Rivals.com ranks him eighth overall and No. 2 at his position. ESPNU Recruiting has him 13th overall and No. 3 at his position.
