LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Kentucky men’s golf junior Seth Blann has been named to the Southeastern Conference Community Service team, the league office announced Friday.
Blann was honored for his hard work in the community by the league office after devoting hours of his time and energy giving back as a volunteer for the Bluegrass Youth for Christ and God’s Pantry Back Pack program. Blann also made visits to Shriner’s Hospital and participated in CATS Cultivating Character.
It is the first time in Blann’s career to be named to the SEC Community Service Team. Blann was named to the Academic All-SEC team in 2008-09 and 2009-10.
The annual SEC golf Community Service Team recognizes the superior community service efforts of the league’s student-athletes. The SEC Community Service Team consists of one student-athlete from each SEC institution, nominated by his school’s personnel, who has devoted himself to community service.
The SEC also sponsors community service teams for football, men’s and women’s basketball and the league’s men’s and women’s Olympic sports.
