LEXINGTON, Ky. — Former University of Kentucky football offensive lineman Chandler Burden has signed as an undrafted free agent with the Tennessee Titans, beginning his dream of playing in the National Football League.
Burden becomes the seventh UK player to enter the NFL in the last few days. Winston Guy and Danny Trevathan were both selected in the sixth round of the NFL Draft on Saturday and four former stars agreed to undrafted free agent deals following the draft. Anthony Mosley agreed to terms with the San Francisco 49ers, Matt Roark signed with the New England Patriots, Ronnie Sneed joined the Detroit Lions and Ryan Tydlacka headed to the Philadelphia Eagles organization.
Burden helped anchor the Wildcats offensive front in 2011. The native of Blue Ash, Ohio, started at left tackle in all 12 games for UK after returning from an injury he sustained at the end of the 2010 season. For his career, Burden played in 43 games, making 26 starts. After playing two seasons on the defensive line, Burden showed his versatility by transitioning from defensive end to offensive tackle for the 2010 season. After his strong 2011 season, Burden earned an invitation to play in the 2012 Casino Del Sol College All-Star Game in Tucson, Ariz.
