LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky men’s and women’s track and field teams are heading to Austin, Texas, for the 85th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays on March 29-31.

The meets mark the second weekend of competition for the Wildcats in the spring season. Kentucky will compete at the Texas Relays on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Senior distance runner Luis Orta will compete in his first event of the spring on Thursday when he races in the men’s 3,000-meter steeplechase. During the indoor season, Orta led the Wildcats and claimed Southeastern Conference Men’s Runner of the Year accolades.

Cally Macumber and Chelsea Oswald will run in the women’s 5,000m, while freshman Jared Phillips races in the men’s 5K. Adam Kahleifeh, Walter Luttrell and Josh Nadzam will run in the men’s 1,500m, and junior Megan Wright will compete in the women’s 1,500m. Trent Halasek, Matt Hillenbrand, Sean Keane and Kahleifeh will make up UK’s 4x800m relay team.

Coming off a strong season-opening meet at the Bulls Invitational, freshman Raymond Dykstra and sophomore Andrew Evans will compete at the Texas Relays. Dykstra, who set the freshman- and school-record in the javelin two weeks ago, will compete in the same event Friday. Meanwhile, Evans, who set the seventh-best discus mark in school history on March 16, will throw the discus again Saturday.
