LEXINGTON, Ky. — Due to severe weather in the Central Kentucky area, the Kentucky baseball series opener with Illinois-Chicago has been postponed, with the series set to begin on Saturday with a twinbill, starting at 12 p.m. ET at Cliff Hagan Stadium.

Kentucky (8-0) was slated to being its series with UIC (2-5) on Friday at 4 p.m. ET. Due to heavy rains, winds and a high threat of tornadic activities forecast for Lexington on Friday evening, the game will be pushed to a Saturday afternoon doubleheader.

UK will send its weekend rotation of Taylor Rogers (2-0, 3.00 ERA), Jerad Grundy (1-0, 4.66 ERA) and Corey Littrell (1-0, 2.77 ERA) to the mound, with Rogers and Grundy slated to pitch on Saturday. UIC will counter with right-handers Mat Heaslip (0-1, 8.38 ERA) and Joey Begel (0-2, 11.45 ERA) in the twinbill.

The games will be broadcast live on the UK IMG Radio Network, with Dick Gabriel voicing the action. Fans in Lexington can hear the action live on WGVN 1580-AM and online at UKathletics.com.
