BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – After generating the best season in school history in 2011, the No. 13/18 Kentucky softball team is set to be featured on ESPNU twice during the 2012 season it was announced by the Southeastern Conference on Thursday.
Kentucky is slated to host Georgia in a primetime game on April 13 at the UK Softball Complex. First pitch is set for 8:15 p.m. ET in the first game of a three-game set between the two schools.
UK will also appear on a 1 p.m. ET game at Mississippi State on Saturday, April 21. That game will mark the second contest of the three-game series between the two teams.
For the third consecutive season every game of the SEC Tournament will be broadcast live on the ESPN family of networks beginning at noon on May 10. The eight-team single-elimination tournament will be held in Tuscaloosa, Ala., in 2012.
Kentucky opens its 2012 season this evening in Los Angles as the Wildcats meet No. 19/13 UCLA on the 12-time National Champion’s home field. UK will play UCLA three times in its opening weekend of action and also take on Pacific on Friday in an early afternoon contest.
