LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Kentucky men’s tennis seniors No. 5 Eric Quigley and No. 13 Alex Musialek, along with junior No. 36 Anthony Rossi, each posted a straight-sets singles win Sunday en route to Kentucky having a successful final day in both singles and doubles action at the Rainbow Warrior Challenge in Honolulu.
The tournament was split into three singles flights and two doubles flights with both UK and Hawaii having three singles players and two doubles teams in each flight. The event was played in round-robin format.
“The results today wrapped up what was a great trip for our team,” UK head coach Dennis Emery said. “Our team is anxious for the SEC Coaches’ Indoor event to begin next Friday in Lexington. Many highly ranked teams will be in town for what is always one of the best events in the nation. We have had great success at this event the past few years and hopefully this year won’t be any different.”
Quigley claimed his singles win in Flight A, taking down Dmytro Kovalyov 6-2, 6-2 to end the weekend 2-0 in singles play, while Musialek also went 2-0 over the weekend, defeating David Schuster 6-3, 6-1 on Sunday in singles Flight C. Rossi played in singles Flight B on Sunday, earning a 6-3, 6-4 win over Danilo Casanova.

Paul Varga (1982-85) holds the school record in career singles wins with a 144-80 post. Musialek is 91-41 for his career in singles action, ranking him tied for 17th on Kentucky career singles wins list with Carlos Drada and Greg Van Emburgh.
