Kentucky-South Carolina Postgame Notes

Kentucky is 15-1 overall and South Carolina is 8-7.
Kentucky leads the series 45-10 and has won four in a row.
This was the Southeastern Conference opener for both teams. UK is 61-18 all-time in SEC openers.
Kentucky returns to action Wednesday at Auburn at 8 p.m. EST. The game will be televised on the SEC Network.

Kentucky started with the lineup of Marquis Teague, Doron Lamb, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Terrence Jones and Anthony Davis for the 11th time this season. UK is 10-1 when starting this lineup.
South Carolina scored the first four points of the game.
Kentucky got on the board at 17:41 on a driving layup by Kidd-Gilchrist, starting a 7-0 run.
USC tied it at seven on a three-pointer by Damien Leonard, but the Wildcats got the next four points and never trailed again.
Ahead 23-18, Kentucky closed the half on an 11-0 run for a 34-18 lead. USC was held scoreless for the final 4:08 of the half.

UK got the first two points of the second half, extending the run to 13-0, before South Carolina got back on the scoreboard.
Both teams had a hot start to the second half, with each scoring 13 points in the first 4:03 of the half.
UK led by as many as 21 points, 53-32, with 12:53 remaining when Kyle Wiltjer swished a 3.
USC continued its hot shooting and rallied within 12 points at 62-50, but UK responded with an 8-0 run to put the game away.

UK shot 59.2 percent from the field.
- It is the ninth time this season that the Wildcats made at least half their shots in a game.

Kentucky dominated points in the paint, 48 to 26.
Kentucky swept fast-break points, 12-0.
UK blocked eight shots. The Wildcats came into the game leading the nation with 9.4 blocks per game.
UK forced its 11th shot-clock violation of the season, already eclipsing last season’s total of 10.
The Wildcats extended their home winning streak to 45 games, the longest active streak in the nation. The run includes the 2009 NIT game at Memorial Coliseum and the last 44 games at Rupp Arena.
UK is a perfect 44-0 under Calipari at Rupp Arena, the longest win streak in venue history.
UK owns a 470-60 all-time record in Rupp Arena.
Since the 2000 season, Calipari-coached teams have posted a 198-19 record at home.
UK is 61-1 under Calipari when the opponent scores 67 or fewer points.
In its 109th season of basketball, Kentucky is the NCAA’s all-time wins leader with 2,067 wins.

Anthony Davis had 12 points, 10 rebounds and seven blocked shots.
- Davis has nine double-doubles this season, including five straight games.
  - Davis is the first Wildcat to have five-consecutive double-doubles since DeMarcus Cousins in 2010.
  - His nine double-doubles this season already ranks tied for fourth all-time among UK freshmen.
- Davis has blocked at least three shots in seven-straight games and 14 of 16 games this season. He leads the SEC with 4.5 blocks per game.
- Has 74 blocks on the season, leapfrogging today from 10th place to sixth place on the UK single-season list.
Terrence Jones scored 20 points, his most since a season-high 26 vs. St. John’s on Dec. 1.
- Made his first eight field-goal attempts, including a three-pointer
Marquis Teague tallied a career-high 17 points, 11 of which came in the second half.
Doron Lamb scored 10 points.
- Made 2 of 3 three-point shots, breaking out of a 2 of 11 slump.
