LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) – Keyla Snowden scored 19 points and No. 14 Kentucky overcame a slow start to beat Sam Houston State 73-52 on Friday night.
Samantha Drake added 11 points and 13 rebounds for the Wildcats.
Leading by only seven at the half, the Wildcats used a 10-2 spurt early in the second half to put the game out of reach. Kentucky (6-0) shot just 33 percent from the field in the first half and forced only 12 turnovers. The Wildcats were able to quicken the pace a bit in the second half forcing more turnovers.
Britni Martin finished with 13 points for the Bearkats (2-2).
