LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky baseball team will hold its annual winter baseball camps during the month of December, it was announced on Wednesday by UK head coach Gary Henderson.

Henderson and his staff will host the winter UK baseball campus, including the Wildcat Winter Baseball School (youth; Dec. 21-22), Wildcat Pitching Catching and Infield Camp (high school; Dec. 27), Wildcat Hitting Camp (high school; Dec. 28) and Wildcat Winter 5 Tool Camp (high school; Dec. 29).

“We are excited to offer another great series of winter camps in December,” Henderson said. “Our winter camps provide players a great opportunity to take advantage of their break in school and work in our wonderful indoor facilities at developing their skills for the next level.”

Henderson, along with UK assistant coaches Brad Bohannon, Brian Green and Keith Vorhoff, will host the winter camps, also welcoming a talented group of coaches that will add to the instruction provided by the UK baseball winter camps.

Youth, ages 6-14, are welcome to attend the Wildcat Winter Baseball School Dec. 21-22, with the camp geared toward teaching baseball fundamentals, drill work specifically designed to improve each campers’ offensive and defensive skills, and also simulated game situations. Every camper is videotaped to ensure the highest quality hitting and throwing analysis by our staff.

UK will offer three different high school age camps, beginning with the Wildcat Pitching, Catching and Infield Camp on Dec. 27. This camp is geared toward helping the high school player hone defensive skills.

The Wildcat Hitting Camp will be held for high school athletes on Dec. 28. The camp is geared as an intense hitting camp that provides players superior instruction on all facets of hitting, including mechanics, drills and various presentations, with each camper videotaped for analysis.

The Wildcat Winter 5 Tool Camp will be held on Dec. 29 for high school players and it will combine instruction and competition. Campers are grouped by position and will have the ability to work at various positions. The UK staff will feature a variety of presentations on the recruiting process, strength and conditioning and succeeding at the collegiate and professional level.

Wildcat Winter Baseball School

Offers the young player the opportunity to prepare for his spring season in a fun and positive learning atmosphere. Our staff will teach each player baseball fundamentals, drill work specifically designed to improve each campers’ offensive and defensive skills, and also simulated game situations.  Every camper is videotaped to ensure the highest quality hitting and throwing analysis by our staff.
Wednesday, December 21 – Thursday, December 22 — 9 am to 3 pm

HIGH SCHOOL – Grades 9-12

Wildcat Pitching, Catching and Infield Camp

Pitching and defense win championships and this camp will be an excellent venue for the high school player to hone his defensive skills, covering all facets of each specific position.  Every camper is videotaped to ensure the highest quality defense/pitching analysis by our staff.
Tuesday, December 27– 9 am to 3 pm

Wildcat Hitting Camp

This intense hitting camp will provide the high school player with superior instruction on all facets of hitting, including mechanics, drills and various presentations. Every camper is videotaped to ensure the highest quality hitting analysis by our staff.

Wildcat Winter 5 Tool Camp

Combines instruction and competition while offering the high school player an opportunity to receive expert instruction from the University of Kentucky Baseball Coaching Staff as well as select visiting college coaches. Campers will be grouped by position and will have the chance to work out at various positions. The UK staff will also include various presentations concerning the recruiting process, strength and conditioning, etc.
