Kentucky, who checks in at 10th in the latest RPI release, opened the SEC season with four-straight on the road where the Cats collected two wins and six big points in the SEC standings. UK picked up wins in places it hasn’t been successful in quite some time, winning their first match in Tuscaloosa, Ala., (4-1 over Alabama) since 2003 and their first match in Columbia, S.C., (1-0 over South Carolina) since 2005.

The Wildcats look to continue that momentum against the Razorbacks against whom they have rolled up a 10-4-2 record including a 7-0-1 mark in Lexington against Arkansas.

“Arkansas is incredibly dangerous,” UK head coach Jon Lipsitzsaid. “They’ve been all over the goal, hitting posts and hitting players. I watched their game against Tennessee that they lost 4-0, but it should have been 3-3 at halftime. They had unbelievable chances in the Georgia game and ended up losing 1-0. The danger with them is that they can score at any moment. They play a style that’s so different than us; it’s a very difficult game for us.”

Kentucky is led offensively by senior captain Kelsey Hunyadi. Hunyadi is off to the best individual start for UK since Keri Boyce and Annie Gage in the 2000 season. Both tallied 22 points through the first 12 games. The Dublin, Ohio native leads the Wildcats in virtually every offensive category this year and ranks third in the SEC in assists (7), fifth in points (21), sixth in shots (41) and seventh in goals (7).

Freshman goalie Kayla Priceleads the league with four shutouts and has posted a 1.18 goals against average (GAA).

Kickoff Friday night is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET. Live stats and live streaming will be available at UKathletics.com.

The weekend continues on Sunday when Kentucky hosts LSU, ranked 18th in the latest RPI, in a 1:00 p.m. ET start. UK and the UK HealthCare Pediatric Unit are teaming up for the match dubbed, “Kick Cancer.”

Admission to the match is $5 with $1 dollar from every ticket sold being donated to the UK Healthcare Pediatric Unit. Official KICK CANCER match t-shirts will be sold online on the UK team shop at UKAthletics.com. The Wildcats will be wearing pink jerseys, and immediately following the match, the jerseys will be auctioned off on the UK Team Shop website at UKathletics.com. The auction will go from Sunday, Oct. 9th at 1:00 p.m. to Friday, Oct. 14th at 5:00 p.m. ET.

The Wildcats will also being wearing gold shoes laces in honor of pediatrics. Those same shoe laces will be sold at the game with all profits going to the pediatric unit.

Also following the match there will be an on-field post game ceremony to honor all those that have been affected by cancer.
