LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky women’s tennis team continued play in the Kansas Invitational today at the Jayhawk Tennis Center in Lawrence, Kan. Two players found success in the doubles draws.

Sophomores Khristina Blajkevitch and Cece Witten began consolation play against Dominique Wimmer and Alexandra Johannson of Nova Southeastern University, defeating them, 8-3. In the next round, they took on Ksenia Googe and Olga Musilovich of Washington State University, winning 8-6. This victory earned them fifth place for the tournament.

Unfortunately, the rest of the Wildcats doubles pairs fell to their opponents in earlier rounds.

Witten continued her winning streak for the day in singles play, taking on Dominique Wimmer of NSU again. She defeated her 6-3, 6-1 and will move on to play tomorrow.

Misha Testerman will also play tomorrow after an impressive 6-1, 6-1 win against Maddie Shulte of Unviersity of Missouri – Kansas City.
