LEXINGTON, Ky. — University of Kentucky seniors Eric Quigley and Alex Musialek, along with 2011 senior and team captain Brad Cox, have accepted wild card invitations to play in the 2011 Fifth Third Bank Tennis Championship singles and doubles main draw, beginning Monday at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex on the campus of the University of Kentucky.

Kentucky’s showing in the event begins Monday night when Cox and Quigley team up in doubles to take on the French combination of Clement Reix and Mathieu Rodrigues. The match is slated to begin immediately following the conclusion of the 7 p.m. singles matches.

Quigley and Musialek will begin their play in the singles main draw Tuesday night. Quigley, who earned All-America honors in singles the past two seasons, will take on former Intercollegiate Tennis Association No. 1-ranked player Rhyne Williams of Tennessee in the opening round. Musialek, who has been an All-Southeastern Conference performer the past two seasons, will face former North Carolina standout Nicholas Monroe in the opening round. Quigley’s singles match will begin at approximately 7:30 p.m. ET, with Musialek’s match following Quigley’s.

Quigley and Musialek recently finished the 2011 collegiate season ranked in the top 50 in the nation with Quigley ending the year at No. 7 and Musialek at No. 47.

Quigley had a splendid 2011 season, tying the school record for singles wins with 45. The top-10 ranking and Quigley’s high seed in the NCAA Singles Championship makes him a singles All-America honoree for the second consecutive season. The native of Pewee Valley, Ky., is now a three-time All-America recipient after being named a singles and doubles All-American last season. Quigley is only the fifth three-time All-American in school history, joining Rich Benson, Greg van Emburgh, Kauffmann and Witten.

Musialek, who was ranked as high as No. 32 in the nation this season, finishes the year with his second consecutive top-50 final ranking. The native of Dax, France, was impressive for UK during the 2011 season, earning a 28-16 record with 13 wins over ranked foes in dual-match play. Musialek also qualified for the NCAA Singles Championship for the second consecutive season, earning his first win in the tournament this year.

Cox, a native of Duluth, Ga., is the only player in school history to play in four consecutive NCAA Doubles Championships. The senior ends his career as one of the best doubles players in school history, ranking in the top 30 of the ITA doubles rankings all four seasons and posting over 70 doubles wins. Quigley and Cox finished 20-19 this season.
