The University of Kentucky women’s tennis team will return to the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex for the final time this season, taking on No. 18 Vanderbilt on Senior Day at 2 p.m. ET on Saturday. The match was originally scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
Kentucky (4-18, 2-8 Southeastern Conference) is coming off back-to-back losses at No. 17 Arkansas and No. 54 LSU. UK fell 6-1 at Arkansas last Friday before dropping a 6-2 decision Sunday at LSU. The Wildcats were led in the losses by freshmen Khristina Blajkevitch and Caitlin McGraw and sophomore Jessica Stiles. Blajkevitch and McGraw earned their team-high ninth singles victories of the season.
Vanderbilt (12-7, 6-4 SEC) is coming off a 4-3 victory over Arkansas last Sunday and a 7-0 win over LSU. The Commodores are led by Alex Leatu in singles, the No. 76 ranked player in the country, and Chelsea Preeg, who comes in at No. 83 in the latest singles rankings. Leatu teams up with Rachael Dillon to form the No. 43 ranked doubles team. Vanderbilt also has the No. 90 ranked doubles team in Lauren Mira and Erica Robertson.
