LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky women’s tennis team returns to Southeastern Conference play Friday when it faces off against No. 54 Alabama at the University of Alabama Tennis Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Ala., at 4 p.m. ET.

Kentucky (3-13, 1-3 SEC) will face Alabama to conclude its six-match road stretch. The Wildcats began their road trip against No. 21 Tennessee, followed by a trip to Athens, Ga., against No. 11 Georgia, and then a trip to the Lone Star State where they faced off against No. 10 Baylor, TCU and Texas Tech.

Senior Megan Broderick, ranked No. 112 in singles picked up her seventh victory of the spring season against Texas Tech on Saturday, topping Elizabeth Ullathorne 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5). Broderick’s seventh victory ties her with sophomore Jessica Stiles for the most on the team. Stiles, a native of Wyckoff, N.J., took down TCU’s Olivia Smith March 18 at No. 2 singles in straight sets, 6-0, 6-3, and tied the match against the Horned Frogs at one match apiece.

Broderick and freshman Khristina Blajkevitch lead the Wildcats at No. 1 doubles with three victories this season.

Alabama had last week off from competition. The Crimson Tide enter Friday’s match with a 7-5 overall record and 0-3 mark in conference play.

Kentucky is 25-9 against Alabama all-time, including last year’s 4-3 victory over Alabama in Atlanta Ga., during the ITA Kickoff Weekend. Alabama topped Kentucky in the two teams’ conference matchup. UK head coach Carlos Drada is 5-2 against Alabama since taking over the reins in 2006.
