LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky gymnastics team wrapped up its regular-season schedule by finishing second in a four-team meet with Maryland, North Carolina and George Washington with a team score of 194.2 at the Comcast Center in College Park, Md., on Sunday.
Maryland claimed the team title with a score of 194.6, while George Washington finished second at 192.275 and North Carolina fourth with a 192.2.
Kentucky (9-9, 1-5 Southeastern Conference) was led at the meet by senior Phylicia Reshard, who finished second in the all-around competition with a score of 39.075. The native of West Chester, Ohio, won two event honors at the meet on vault and floor exercise with scores of 9.85. Reshard also finished in the top three on beam with a 9.775.
The Wildcats started the night on uneven bars where junior Storey Morris finished third with a score of 9.775, while sophomore Caitlyn Ciokajlo was second on the UK team with a 9.7. Senior Colleen Williams and Reshard followed by earning a 9.65 and 9.6, respectively. Freshman Brittany Canfield wrapped up the UK rotation with a post of 9.575.
UK posted its highest team score of the night on balance beam with a mark of 48.7. Kentucky was led on the event by Reshard, and fellow seniors Jasmine Minion and Andrea Mitchell, who each earned a 9.775. Ciokajlo had the second highest score for the Wildcats with a 9.75, while freshman Audrey Harrison scored a 9.625.
Reshard also led the Wildcats on floor with a score of 9.85 to take home event honors. Minion followed Reshard with a 9.8, while Mitchell earned a 9.75. Harrison and freshman Kayla Sienkowski concluded the UK rotation with Harrison earning a 9.625 and Sienkowski a 9.45.
The night concluded on vault for UK with Reshard and Minion taking home event honors with a 9.85. Mitchell followed with a 9.8, while Harrison scored a 9.625 and Williams 9.6.
