Team Records and Series Notes

  • Kentucky wins its fourth consecutive game and improves to 24-7 overall while Vanderbilt falls to 19-11.
  • The win advances UK to the SEC Tournament finals for the second consecutive season.
  • This will mark UK’s third trip to the SEC Tournament championship game. Each time, the Wildcats have meet Tennessee. UK is 0-2 in those games.
  • Kentucky won its third consecutive game over Vanderbilt but its first matchup against the Commodores in the SEC Tournament. The last win was in 1988 (75-67). The Cats are now 2-3 all-time against the ‘Dores in the SEC Tournament.
  • Kentucky is now 24-31 (.369) in the SEC Tournament and 4-3 overall when the tournament is played in Nashville.
  • Coach Matthew Mitchell is now 115-76 overall, 85-47 at UK, including a 4-3 record all-time against Vanderbilt. Mitchell improves his record in the SEC tournament to 5-3.
  • Kentucky is now 627-463 in 37 years of varsity play.

Team Game Notes

  • Kentucky’s starting lineup featured Victoria Dunlap, A’dia Mathies, Keyla Snowden, Brittany Henderson and Bernisha Pinkett for the third time this season. This lineup is now 4-0.
    • UK has used 12 different starting lineups this season.
  • UK has started a freshman in 100-of-132 games during the Matthew Mitchell era, including 68 consecutive.
  • Key Run: After giving up the opening basket of the game to go down 0-2, the Wildcats responded with a 22-0 run to lead 22-2 with 9:22 remaining in the first half. Kentucky never trailed again.
  • Kentucky held Vanderbilt without a point from 19:37 to 9:22 in the opening half, eclipsing 10:15.
  • UK held VU to a season-low 11 points in the first half and held Vanderbilt to 20.0 percent (5-of-25) shooting from the field. The previous low was 17 points by Arkansas Pine-Blue on Dec. 21
    • UK last held an opponent to less than 20 percent shooting from the field in the opening stanza on Nov. 22, 2005 against Stetson (18 percent [9-of-50]).
  • Kentucky forced Vanderbilt into 25 turnovers and has forced double-digits turnovers in 79 consecutive games. They are 56-23 during that span.
    • The Wildcats have forced 20-plus turnovers in 24 of 31 games this season.
    • UK improves to 24-1 when forcing 25-plus turnovers during the last two seasons.
    • UK now has 781 forced turnovers this season which ranks fourth on the single-season list.
    • UK scored 27 points off VU’s 25 turnovers.
  • With 11 steals in the game, UK has reached double-figure steals in 19-of-31 games this season.
    • With 346 steals the Wildcats moved into sixth on UK’s single-season steals list.
  • With three made 3-pointers, the Cats moved into second on UK’s single-season 3-pointers made list with 166.
    • Kentucky extended its streak of consecutive games with a triple to 254.

Individual Game Notes

  • Senior forward Victoria Dunlap recorded her eighth double-double of the season with 22 points and 11 rebounds while adding four steals and two blocks.
    • Has now collected 30 double-doubles in her career.
    • With four steals in the game and 95 this season, Dunlap moved into fifth place on UK’s single-season steals list, passing teammate A’dia Mathies who had 93 last year.
    • With 264 rebounds this season, Dunlap moved into 10th place on UK’s single-season rebound list, passing Eleia Roddy (253 from 2008-09).
    • Has scored in double figures 28 times this season, including 20 consecutive and 92 times in her career.
    • Has scored 20-plus points 11 times this season, 31 times in her career and two consecutive games.
  • Sophomore Brittany Henderson grabbed a career-high 18 rebounds, surpassing her previous high of 12 set against Southern Miss on Nov. 27. She also added nine points and two blocks.
    • The 18 rebounds are the most for a Wildcat since Dunlap had 23 against Louisville on Dec. 5.
    • With 18 rebounds, Henderson moved into a tie for ninth on UK’s single-game rebound list, tying Dunlap’s 18 rebounds against Butler on Nov. 15, 2009.
    • Was one rebound shy from tying UK’s SEC Tournament single-game rebounding total of 19 set by Jennifer Humphrey against Arkansas on Mar. 3, 2007.
  • Sophomore guard A’dia Mathies scored 11 points on 3-of-8 shooting from the field and 5-of-6 from the line.
    • Has now recorded at least steal one in 15 consecutive games and 26-of-31 contests this season.
    • Left with a back injury in the second half after 21 minutes of action and did not return.
  • Junior reserve point guard Crystal Riley recorded seven points and two rebounds while dishing out one assist.
  • Junior Keyla Snowden scored five points with one 3-pointer and grabbed two steals.
    • Moved into seventh place on UK’s all-time 3-pointers made list with 109 in her career, moving her past teammate Carly Morrow (108 from 2008-present).
