LEXINGTON, Ky. – No. 15/18 Kentucky returns to Memorial Coliseum on Sunday, Feb. 13 vs. LSU for its annual “WBCA Pink Zone” game. Game time is 2:30 p.m. EST as it will be broadcast live in front of a nationally televised audience on ESPN2 with Bob Picozzi and Abby Waner calling the action. The game also will be carried on the Big Blue Sports Radio Network with Neil Price.
Single-game tickets are on sale now. Single-game reserved seats are $7 (regardless of age) while general admission tickets are $7 for adults and $4 for youth/seniors. UK students, faculty and staff are admitted free with valid identification. To purchase tickets, visit the Joe Craft Center in person, call 1-800-928-2287 or go online at UKathletics.com.
Fans are encouraged to wear pink and $1 from every single-game ticket purchased will be donated to the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund. Fans wishing to make a contribution in person can do so at the marketing gazebos located on each concourse prior the game.
The WBCA Pink Zone initiative is a global, unified effort for the WBCA’s nation of coaches to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond. The WBCA’s charity of choice is the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund®, in partnership with The V Foundation.
“I was fortunate enough to know Coach (Kay) Yow personally and she was a real inspiration to me,” Mitchell said. “We are trying to fight breast cancer and put an end to breast cancer and that what this entire initiative is trying to do. We would love to raise a lot of money here at Kentucky and we will have a lot of items up for auction. It would be great for Big Blue Nation to put on some pink Sunday and support us. Let’s raise some money for breast cancer.”
The Cats will be wearing brand new pink Nike uniforms and sneakers to help promote breast cancer awareness and several UK items will be up for silent auction and raffle on each concourse in Memorial Coliseum. Coach Matthew Mitchell will don one-of-a-kind shoes that also will be up for auction. Mitchell is one of six head women’s basketball coaches and two television analysts (Debbie Antonelli and Carolyn Peck) who will be displaying shoes tagged with their respective school logo and the Kay Yow Cancer Fund ribbon. Other coaches participating are Miami’s Katie Meier, LSU’s Van Chancellor, Oklahoma’s Sherri Coale, Florida’s Amanda Butler, and North Carolina’s Sylvia Hatchell.
The UK Team Shop also will have a special Kentucky Women’s Basketball pink t-shirt for sale with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
Kentucky (18-6, 7-4 Southeastern Conference), which currently ranks fourth in the league standings, looks to get back on the winning track after dropping a tough road game at South Carolina on Thursday. The Wildcats uncharacteristically committed 18 turnovers while forcing only 14 in the 66-61 loss to the Gamecocks. Sophomore A’dia Mathies (Louisville, Ky.) led the team in scoring with 16 points.
Senior forward Victoria Dunlap (Nashville, Tenn.) continues to prove why she was a unanimous selection for preseason SEC Player of the Year as she ranks in the top five of eight statistical categories, including leading the league in scoring (17.3 ppg) and steals (3.2 ppg).
LSU (17-9, 7-5 SEC) enters Sunday’s game riding a two-game winning streak after defeating Ole Miss and Auburn last week. At 7-5 in SEC play, the Lady Tigers currently sit in fifth place in the SEC standings.
Sophomore Adrienne Webb leads the team in scoring with 13.2 points per game, followed by junior LaSondra Barrett with 12.0 per game. Junior Taylor Turnbow and Barrett lead the team on the boards, each averaging 5.8 rebounds per game.
This is the 37th meeting in the series between Kentucky and LSU. The Lady Tigers lead the overall series 28-8, including a 10-3 advantage when the game is played in Lexington.
The Cats have lost six in a row at home to LSU. The last win was a home game played in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1998. UK won in overtime, 74-71. The last win in Lexington came in 1994, 89-71.
Last season, UK defeated LSU in Baton Rouge, capturing its first win in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center since 1995. The win also snapped a 16-game overall losing streak to the Lady Tigers.
UK Athletics encourages fans to arrive early to ease traffic and parking congestion around the Coliseum. Doors will open one hour prior to the game (1:30 p.m.) Sunday.

Surface event lots (i.e. Student Center, Hardymon, MLK and Good Samaritan) typically reach capacity approximately 30-45 minutes prior to tipoff, at which point, vehicles should proceed to Parking Structure #5.
- Student Center Lot – off Euclid Ave
- MLK South Lot – between Lexington Ave and Martin Luther King Boulevard and south (towards Euclid) of the center drive lane. DO NOT PARK IN NORTH MLK LOT (closest to Wildcat Lodge) AS THIS IS A RESIDENTIAL LOT AND SUBJECT TO TICKET/TOW.
- Joe Craft Center North E-Lot – large lot located north of the Joe Craft Center and accessible via Lexington Avenue or Rose Street.
- Good Samaritan surface Lot – accessible off Martin Luther King Boulevard

Parking Structure #5 – entrances off Limestone and S. Upper.
- The parking structure shuttle will begin one hour prior to tip and end one hour postgame. A free shuttle picks up on Administration Drive, accessible via the sky bridge located on the third floor of Parking Structure #5.
- Handicapped parking (first come, first served until full) is located in the northeast corner of the MLK South Lot; must have valid state-issued hang tag
