LEXINGTON, KY – UK men’s basketball 2011 signees Anthony Davis, Michael Gilchrist, Marquis Teague and Kyle Wiltjer were all named McDonald’s All-American as announced on Thursday.

The four McDonalds All-Americans are the most in a UK class in school history. Previously, the Wildcats had three McDonald’s All-Americans in 2010 (Terrence Jones, Brandon Knight, Doron Lamb), 2004 (Joe Crawford, Randolph Morris, Rajon Rondo), 1984 (Ed Davender, Cedric Jenkins, Richard Madison) and 1979 (Sam Bowie, Derrick Hord, Dirk Minniefield).

Davis, Teague and Wiltjer will play for the West squad, while Gilchrist will represent the East squad.

Davis currently ranks as the top overall prospect in the 2011 class according to Scout.com recruiting services. He ranks second according to ESPN Recruiting and sixth according to Rivals.com.

Gilchrist ranks third overall according to ESPN Recruiting and Rivals and fourth in Scout’s rankings.

Teague ranks second in Rivals, sixth in Scout and eighth in ESPN Recruiting rankings.

Wiltjer checks in at 15th according to ESPN Recruiting, 22nd in Scout and 25th in Rivals.

Prior to this year’s class, UK has had 29 McDonald’s All-Americans since the game began in 1977.

The McDonald’s All-American Game will be played March 30 at the United Center in Chicago. Tip-off is scheduled for 10:00 p.m. ET with the game being televised live on ESPN.
