FORT WORTH, Texas — Emily Holsopple and Henri Junghänel each posted a 594 in air rifle, leading the Kentucky rifle team to a 4672-4579 win over Nebraska, on Saturday at the TCU Rifle Range.

“Overall it was a good road trip,” UK head coach Harry Mullins said. “We stayed in our comfort zone, but being the first road match I was pleased. I was proud of the team for fighting for points after getting ourselves behind. We have a lot of room to improve upon but we are on track for our season-long goals.”

Kentucky (6-1) was led by Junghänel and Holsopple, who charted match-best 594’s in air gun. Junghänel added a 584 in smallbore, with Stacy Wheatley totaling a 586 in air rifle.

Heather Greathouse added a 584 in air rifle and a 574 in smallbore, while senior Logan Fox totaled a 582 in air rifle and a 575 in smallbore. Ethan Settlemires posted a 587 in air rifle and a 575 in smallbore.

“This was the first road trip for Heather and Logan competing on the first team and they were able to do some good things in smallbore,” Mullins said. “Stacy had a great weekend and is knocking on the door for a 590 in air rifle. Emily and Henri had a great weekend in air rifle, I am very proud of their efforts.”

The Wildcats return to action on Jan. 9, facing Columbus State and Alaska Fairbanks.
