LEXINGTON, Ky. -The UK women’s soccer team (6-3-0, 0-1-0) will finish up a stretch of five-straight home games Sunday, hosting the 21st-ranked South Carolina Gamecocks (6-2-2, 0-0-1) at 2 p.m.

The Wildcats have gone 3-1-0 during its home-stand en route a 5-1-0 start at home this season. Kentucky dropped its first match at home Friday night in the SEC opener, a 2-0 loss to the seventh ranked Florida Gators.

In that match, UK head coach Jon Lipsitz thought his team played well all around except for two mental breakdowns that led to the two Gator goals.

The Wildcats lead the all-time series with the Gamecocks 10-5-0 including, however the Cats have dropped three straight against USC and haven’t scored a goal in the series since a 1-0 win in the 2006 season.

While the series record might indicate domination by the Wildcats, a look at the scores will show otherwise. Of the 15 meetings, 10 have been decided by one goal, including seven of the last nine matches. Kentucky is 7-3 in such games against the Gamecocks.

The Gamecocks enter the match off a 0-0 tie at Vanderbilt on Friday night.

Sunday’s kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Live stats and blog will be available at UKathletics.com.
