UK Gymnastics Team Packs BackPacks for God's Pantry

LEXINGTON, Ky. — The University of Kentucky gymnastics team was the third of 22 sports at UK to team up with God’s Pantry Food Bank in the BackPack Program on Tuesday night.
The BackPack Program is designed to meet the needs of hungry children at times when other resources are not available, such as weekends and school vacations.
About the BackPack Program:
BackPacks are filled with food that children take home on weekends.
All of the food is child-friendly, nonperishable, easily consumed and vitamin fortified.
Backpacks are discreetly distributed to children on the last day before the weekend or vacation.
The entire gymnastics team and coaching staff packed the BackPacks on Tuesday. The team will deliver the BackPacks to three local elementary school on Thursday.
