LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky women’s tennis team opened the 2010-11 season Friday in Auburn, Ala., at the Southeastern Conference Fall Coaches Classic. The tournament, featuring each of the SEC’s 12-member schools, completed 84 matches at the Yarborough Tennis Center Friday.

The Cats were led in doubles play by the duo of Megan Broderick and Jessica Stiles, who defeated Connor Vogel and Gabby Rangel of Mississippi, 8-5. Broderick and Stiles then fell in the quarterfinals of the doubles’ flight to Olivia Janowicz and Claire Bartlett of Florida.

In singles play, Misha Testerman was successful in her first singles match of her collegiate career. The freshman from Knoxville, Tenn., defeated Alexus Coats of LSU, 6-0, 6-3.

The Cats will continue play in the SEC Fall Coaches Classic Saturday, beginning with doubles action at 10 a.m.
